Astrophotography at Cap Malheureux

It has been some time that I’ve been looking to achieve some astrophotography… but the problem was that I deemed that my current equipment wasn’t good enough for low light and high ISO performance. Fortunately, since late December 2015 I got myself the Sigma 18-35 1.8 together with the Nikon D7200 body, and that was due time to go and try something new. I set out for Cap Malheureux, to the north of the island round 1am with the aim of obtaining something from the Flat Island in sight together with the lighthouse there. Unfortunately the day I went, the lighthouse wasn’t in operation and thought I had to find something else since I was already there. While playing around I managed to obtain what I think was good enough for a start.

The result wasn’t perfect but I still liked it for a start. The milky way was visible as well as I managed to get the famous red roof church in view.
